URC gun dog tests at Shardeloes – the pictures are now online!

Here is a selection of the images from last weekends URC gun dog test at Shardeloes. Another fantastic event with a great number of entrants with people travelling several miles to take part. This time I opted to position myself on the river bank (well in the river really sitting on a damp log – ahh the glamorous life I lead!) in the morning to photograph the dogs crashing through the water. Well, this certainly had it’s challenges with the low light due to the tree canopy, it was not the best conditions to be photographing dogs flying through the water! But still, thanks to modern technology I have managed to get some great shots of some of the dogs whilst also getting soaked as they charged passed me.

To the competitors, apologies for not getting all of the dogs in the water but it was particularly challenging in the river. Also, sorry for not being able to photograph each of you before you sent your dogs to retrieve – I know this is a great way to reference your dogs when viewing the pictures but it was not possible in the morning.
Some of the water pictures may be slightly ‘softer’ then normal due to the low light conditions however all of them will be fine in the smaller sizes up to 12″x8″ If you would like something larger for the wall of your dog please check with me before ordering.

In the afternoon it all fell into place with good light and I was able to photograph each handler before the dogs were sent to retrieve the dummy. So hopefully any black lab owners will now be able to identify their dogs this time!

With previous events I have put all of the images onto this blog, however it can run a bit slow on some people’s computers so this time I have tried something different.

The pictures are now on http://www.photoboxgallery.com/marklord a gallery I have set up on a site with Photobox. Here you will be able to view the images and purchase them online direct from Photobox. There is a HUGE range of products available from prints to mouse mats and make up bags!

For those that require prints you are welcome to email me or call me with your order and I will order them on your behalf and have them sent to your home address. The photobox gallery will remain online for 4 weeks.

Some people last weekend asked me about a CD of the images of their dogs. I am happy to offer a CD of high resolution images of your dog for £70 or if you have attended other tests at Portman Burtley, West Wycombe and Englefield then I can supply you a CD of all of the images of your dog (s) for £120. You will have to let me know the reference numbers though!!

As before I am happy to offer the popular compilation of 4 images printed onto an A4 for £25 or the larger A3 with 4, 6 or 8 images on together with your dog’s full name, the estate name and date etc for just £50.

#EJChurchill Mini Shooting Fair 20th/21st July

Well, here are a few more pictures from today’s mini shooting fair at E J Churchill. I spent much of my time talking to people and enjoying myself so did not take as many pictures as one would have hoped.  However here are some that made the edit! Mickey Rouse stole the spotlight today with his amazing shooting skills, although I don’t fancy going around to his place for a fruit cocktail! I met many great suppliers today including gun dog trainers Ian and Jill Clinton of Working Dog Company, Bridie Hicks of Hicks Hides whom makes beautiful handcrafted leather belts, The Foxdenton Estate Company with their delicious fruit gins as well as many other great suppliers. Check out the EJ Churchill website and Twitter feed to find out who the other great suppliers were. The staff ar E J Churchill have done a fabulous job at pulling out the stops and organising a mini fair for us punters in such short notice. Sounds like it going to be a nice sunny day tomorrow so I’d recommend unlocking that shotgun and getting down there for a round or two of clays! Just don’t take any tomatoes along! 😉

Don’t move or the tomato gets it!
